Time to move down south.

Im so sick of sitting inside. I hate snow, I hate the cold. The 10 day forecast for my area, Snow friday, Saterday, Monday and Wendsday.

Its freakin March, STOP SNOWING !!! :shaking:

Come on down!! We've had nice warm sunny days down here for months now. But just wait 'till August when it's 98 degrees, 95% humidity and an ozone watch is in effect. :puker: Then you'll be wishing for snow.

I agree with Adam. It was over 60 yesterday and today we've had (so far....) about 4" of snow. And more is coming...... :|

Me and Amy have been talking about the pacific south-west and how nice it would be to retire out there

I should have done it a few years ago when I was looking at a house in N.C.
25X50 garage/workshop, full power, Ac, Bar, Office with cable and telephone. Set on 2 acres, so I could expand the garage without a problem. Was only $125,000 and the taxes were $700 a year. Oh and a 1500 + sq.ft. house for the wife and kids.
Shoulda done it. Kick me now.

It was over 40 deg this morning. Here I thought it was going to be a nice day, untill I was driving to work listening to the radio and heard the weather

Wow, out here on Long Island something like that would cost....er,ummm... an aweful LOT of money! The property taxes alone would probably be in excess of $25K per year.Crap.... I pay over$1,200 a year for my %$#@#$% CABLE bill!

John its the same here. I'll never be able to own a house. My rent is a Grand a month as it is, and the house is only about 900 sq ft.

:drunken: ?

Yesterday, it was near 60.

This morning, it was still kinda warm.

I left for lunch around noon, it was kinda decent. Then it started to hail. Then sleet. By the time I got from back lunch it was like a blizzard.

It looks 3 hours to get home from work today. I left at 3:30, didn't walk in the door until a little past 6:30. It's normally about a 45 minute ride.

People drive stupid as soon as it starts snowing. Driving through red lights, making u-turns in the middle of the road. I watched one guy (on the Expressway) drive his truck past a bunch of cars on the shoulder and then go right off the road. Stupid.

My taxes here are over triple that just for land taxes, then add in school taxes :thumbdow:

More great fun. When I was writting that the power went out. Then the lights flashed real bright then dim, went out again. Were back on but I had to boot the computer twice to get the vid card to work. It was using the vga default.

It wouldnt be so bad here if I had a garage to work in.

Then I could go in and crank up the heat and feel like I did something other then sit on my *** all winter.

Yep, me too. Even more, actually. They just went up in 2004, too. I paid almost $7,000 in taxes this past year. That's for an oversized 1/3 of an acre with a 2000 square foot house on it.

It's crazy, I tell ya. :cherry:

I had one of those stupid people pull out in front of me. Had plenty of time and waited till I got almost to the let turn and then pulled out in one of those NO traction rear wheel drive mercury's. Not fun when your driving a 16' Diesel box truck and it's slippery.

Ha!

I was behind a knucklehead in a Mercedes, he couldn't get up a hill. Kept sitting in one spot, spinning his tires. Tried backing up a few times to make a run at it. Every time I tried to go around him he made angry motions with his hands and gunned it. Finally I went around him, horn blasting and finger waving.

WOW, the taxes in NY are twice what mine are. I have about the same as mikelbeck and my taxes are half. I'll tell you what Adam, I'll give you my house if someone in AZ gives me theirs. Here in IL it gets cold, but we rarely get more than 6 inches of snow and it usually lasts about a day.

I might be moving again adam. just to qeep a head of ya lol. only its 4 doors down from where im at now.

Oh yea

Damn man its 75 out side and its 10 at night.

BOY!!!!!!....im GLAD i moved to DELAWARE!!!!!

it was 65 yesterday, rained in the morning today, windy tonight and in the 50's this week.

my house is paid for,my wife and daughters LOVE it and the track is 20 mins away!!!!!

I hate the winter to,i think all that keeps sain is having a garage to work in on the weekends!
Our property taxes have gone way up this year thanks to a couple HONEST politicians  that pocketed a couple million $ then resigned and moved out of the county! :x

well up here in vancouver bc it was 60* f and was rainy we get about 6 inches of snow in the winter lots of rain and ok summers.

just don't get me started on taxes but property tax doesn't seem to be as bad as some of you are describing.

adam, we have lots of available houses in my area :) they arent too terribly expensive. and for $1k/month rent, you could easily buy one if you had the down payment. its nice and warm all year.... gets a little hot in the summer... but the winters are full of work and warm(er) weather! if we ever get snow, it doesnt stick. and if it sticks, its gone when the sun comes up. :)

Face it you can't make the money you make aroud here
anywhere else. When retirement time comes my wife and I are getting the hell out of here.
 Retirement , like we will ever be able to retire
Will be found dead at my desk some day.

Aint that the truth!

I've got "golden handcuffs" for the time being, so I can't leave my job. But when they're removed, I'm selling the house, paying off everything I owe and moving down south. It won't matter how much I make then, it's much cheaper to live anywhere outside of New York - especially Long Island.

That's my plan, anyway...

Yup Thats the probablem. If I move some were else I'll be making half as much as I make now. But altleast the cost of living down south is less.

Its sad when you make over $20 an hour and feel broke all the time.
