On an impulse I responded to an ad for a 1966 Barracuda that was almost completely disassembled and wound up bringing it home. I'm now trying to figure out what I have for sure before I decide what to do next. It is a vinyl top model that originally was yellow with black vinyl. I've seen one or two over the years, but never really paid attention. Does anyone out there have a '66 vinyl top Barracuda? I'm wondering about parts. I have some of the chrome (maybe all), no vinyl & no rubber gasket stuff. Am I in trouble? :)

Google targa top. Some nice ones out there.
Mine has/had the vinyl top also.
It had a bunch of holes in the A pillar from tacks that held the vinyl. Mine also came to me as a kit car. Many many loose pieces.
Except mine is a 65.

Weatherstrips are available through various vendors. Easer access if you reside in the U.S

It’s not just the vinyl top trim you need, there is a tack strip and clips that mounts under the trim, and the drip rails also have a wider, different shaped trim. Show all of the pieces you have, I’ll tell you if you have it all or not!

Mine isnt a tack strip, there are tabs that screw to the roof. Maybe i should look in my pile of pieces, see if there is a strip too.

The windshield gasket has a lip that extends and overlaps the vinyl material, is unique to the vinyl top models and unavailable so far as I know. However a non vinyl top windshield gasket works just fine...I put one on my vinyl top 1966 Barracuda.
A reputable auto upholster can order and match the original grain pattern very close. Good news is the vinyl top came only in two colors, white and black. The vinyl roof option cost $62.00 extra in 1966

I have a complete set of chrome and clips I bought about 2 years ago from a member on here.
I would be willing to sell at the same cost as I am not going to be using it if you are interested- PM me for me info.
