Dad's ole' truck. I'm going to V8 swap this truck. Super Six runs great. I just can't slant .... lol

RRR, or any other Mopar guy can make a great argument for it staying between the fenders.Oh no, what would @RustyRatRod have to say about that?
And I'm not even going to make it a hot rod. I can't even put my finger on it, and I've owned a lot of slants. The sound? The torque to run up a hill? Distributor location? I don't know, I just can't slant...You gotta want to love them and enjoy the aesthetic more than the performance. In a truck they leave a lot to be desired!
I feel the same way about flat heads and two stroke bikes. Just not my thing. I’m a slant lover though. And I'm not even going to make it a hot rod. That's one fine looking engine bay.I feel the same way about flat heads and two stroke bikes. Just not my thing. I’m a slant lover though.

Thank you sir, that’s a major compliment coming from you. That's one fine looking engine bay.
I don't even use all the power the slant offers. Most of my driving is a half inch or less of the gas... Can't say it's power related... though it is hilly here and sometimes I could use a small amount more of torque...Turbo![]()
I believe it's just I like the sound of the V8, the way the V8 sits under the hood, and in my opinion how much more accessible the "common parts" are on a V8 (distributor, spark plugs, etc). Even the T-stat standing upwards on the slant is in it's own sense not common sense... LOL. I won't waste my time when it doesn't belong to me. lolRRR, or any other Mopar guy can make a great argument for it staying between the fenders.
Exactly. There are many good reasons to keep the slant in, but it's all in the eye of the beholder. Make your vehicle to your liking is what I always sayI won't waste my time when it doesn't belong to me. lol

Sold the slant 6 engine to a guy with a Swather (farm machinery) and he was happy to get it.

Totally get it!I have my dad's original 1987 pick-up..........Last year for the slants. I was going to swap in a Cummins, but I just don't have the heart to. It makes more sense to have a bigger, more powerful engine but hey, my dad bought it new. What can I say![]()
I just can't slant .

Booo Hisss Booo To each his own.I read that and instantly saw in my head bugs bunny freaking out.
TF is wrong with two strokes?
The sound, the smell, the blue smoke filling the entire length of the creekbed, the instant torque!
Yes! Have something ready BEFORE yanking ... ha!I'm with you on the slants. I couldn't yank the 225 out of my 69 Dart fast enough. Sadly it's been sitting with no engine now for 15 years. Maybe I should've left the slant in there to yard move. Lol
