Yea, people that just bust into song in movies is stupid, IMO.
Don't you have Netflix? There are good movies on there.
I go for the foreign moves because they are more intelligent than standard American fare. Also independent movies tend to be better. They have to be.
And if a book is good enough to have been made into a movie, it's probably good.
Movies based on historical events are usually good to.
I wouldn't call the Blues Brother's a musical.
It's more a road trip movie about some people that are musicians.
Like the Buddy Holly Story. But different and whimsical.
Music aside, IIRC Paint Your Wagon was creepy.
(I've only seen it once. Some time ago).
