Again, I cant get my doors to open on my ' 65 barracuda. Been putting PB blaster penatrent on the parts in there for 2 months. They are locked and I cannot get them to un-lock. Please someone give me some pointers here. Should I just start taking everything I can get at apart???? The window track is in the way so I can only see some of the mechanism. And I cant hardly get my fingers on some of it. I NEED HELP!!!!!! I'm really frustrated here. I usually will do some preatty stupid stuff when I get frustrated like this. Thats why I'm basically BEGGING for HELP!!!! PLEASE???????

Go slow. Lose the door panel. Lose the regulator. Lose the glass. Then open door from the inside. Go slow. You'll get there.

Why are the doors stuck, rust or just "stuck"? Did the lock rod come off and they are just both locked? Give us some more details here and we can help out more. If it's just that they are locked then go for the slim jim as stated above.

You might be able to pry open the locking mechanism that closes around the striker with a flat blade screw driver. Im not sure.My memory isnt the best. Can you get the door panels off? You mat need to remove some interior trim. The door arm rest/handle needs to come off (2 screws?) as well as the window crank (allen wrench set screw). You could use heat but be carefull not to melt any of those little plastic clips on the ends of the rods. I suspect the latch itself is siezed.

My passenger door did this on one of my B Bodies years ago.I had to take out the front bench seat and then take of the interior door panel. Then I could lay on the floor and look up inside the door to see what was wrong. One of the little rods up inside the dorr fell off.I don't remember with one but I put it back on and the door could be opened from the inside as well as the outside.
I have also bought a car or two that had sat for a long time.Usally I could put my shoulder into it a bit to get it open. When I finally got it open I would spray the hell out of everything with PB Blaster.
Good luck,Jim

They are both locked. I have had the whole lock rod on drivers side come off. Basically the locking mechanisms on both sides are seized. I have had both door panels off since day one. I've never delt with something that I cant figure out on my own before. I've owned 10+ early A-body's and have never come accross this problem before.

so you are looked out and cant get into the car at all to take the door panel off right?? if so slim jim it. the best luck that i have had with a slim jim from a few years of getting lockout calls in the towing business is taking the slim jim and putting not quite a 45 degree bend in it about 4-6 inches up before sliding down into the door. hopefully this little tip helps!

Best thing I've run across for rusted fasteners is Kroil. Don't know why it wouldn't work on your mechanisms.

If the locking mechanism is still intact on passenger side try sticking the straw from pb blaster or something similar into the key lock itself & spraying it as if you were sticking the key in. If access is a prob. & can get into trunk come through by folding access panel & then rear seat down to slither in.

Thanks everyone. I can get into the car. I've had the door panels off for a couple of months. I've been squirting PB blaster on the drivers side once or twice a week all of that time. The passanger side a few times. I just back in from another 2 hour stab at it. I actually got the drivers side mechanism to go up enouph to where it actually made the click sound. Tried to open the door from inside and now it wont do it anymore. So I moved to the passenger side and coated the hell out of everything and came inside to see if anyone had responded. Hopefully It will do it's job. If I still cant get it to do anything I'll attempt to take some pics of it. Thanks.

it sounds like maby something other then rust and corrosion is the problem. maby dirt in it or something is bent so it simply wont move. will the handels work? or they probably just pull up part way and dont do anything. i dont know how it all works on these cars but could you disconnect it from the striker and get it open? i bet it would make it easier if the door would open lol. did it just happen or was it parked for a while?
