Really close, can't wait

Header clearance at the box and torsion bars isn't as bad as it looks, couldn't get a good angle shot
I'm looking at engine torque straps now, to minimize the movement of the engine.

16:1 manual steering box

1.o3 PST torsion bars

Hellwig 1 1/8 inch front sway bar

742 case sure grip 3.91
Richmond Gear, built by
Roy SGBARRACUDA, RIP

Doug's D453

Going to clutch fan

Yes traction bars, I saw many in cars 60-70's

I found out that I can press the tag into service, after resto of course

Very cool, even though traction bars aren't needed, I can appreciate the retro look !!!!

Excited for you but please tell us you will have a grommet or some protection for that wire bundle going through the firewall.

Congrats on being so close - it will be worth it!!

That was a quickie mock up from yrs ago
I'm going with a standard thermostatic fan clutch , 20 inch fan, is engaged 60 to 70 percent of the time

Congrats man! I know you're excited! No worries on the traction bars. They're old school cool.

Good eye
You bet, one of the many details
I still have to take care of

A metal plate is going to cover the bulkhead opening

And the heater fan hole and hose nipple holes as I am removing the heater box

If need be, I'll get a 12v auto stand alone heater

70 Dart? I like 70 Darts! did I ever tell ya about the "Mopar Guy "who scolded me in the mid 2000's for running Lakewood slapper bars on my Dart...?

I'm surprised that I haven't gotten any crap over the t bars. There was a big discussion here about them some time back. Several members were passionate that they "were a complete waste of time"

Crj1968 and Rusty Rat Rod nailed it,
"Retro look" "Old school"

Yeah they were always associated with the leaf spring Chevies, Nova and Camaro I was told "you have a snubber don't ya...?"

it seemed as if might have been a "status symbol" yrs ago, or Im a poser, at least my junk looks that it might "go fast"

here's my old Falcon that had the traction bars on when I bought it. Left them on...

Yeah you're probably right. I still have my Lakewoods they are yellow oversprayed with primer , I dont imagine I paid more than $20 for them in the 90's LOL! They are vintage pieces for sure now LOL!

Your car, your look! Nobody else has to like it. Just make it what YOU want!

I built my avatar as a 70's throwback - something I would have built in the 70's IF I would have had the resources or knowledge (I had neither!). It came out how I wanted it too and I'm happy with it. And it seems when I drive it places, others appreciate it too. So that's a side bonus.
