I need a new printer, what do you all recommend???

Brother HL-L3230CDW here ....my second Brother Laser printer - first one got messed up by a moth, and smeared the blue drum. It was cheaper to replace it than to try and repair.

I will not go back to Inkjet printers....although I still have the Epson Colour Artisan 730 to wear out first. I like the Epson because it has a great scanner bed and software is easy to use for all my scanning needs.

Yup. I was just reading about them. But of course, Kitty prints color. Man those powder toner cartridges are very expensive.

but you get many many more page prints out of the toner. I have a color printer and I go through a set of toner every 2-2 1/2 years

I got tired of ink cartridges and their cost and bought a Brother all-in-one color laser. Not photo quality but for general printing it works great.

i did the same.. best decision ever..

I have a Brothers we picked up years ago now but if your cheap like me lol the reason I like it is that I can buy a set of ink cartridges for it for short money on fleabay . It's got wi fi so I can print from my phone too .

You can also try the MFG's "UPD" driver.

Did you try the "check windows update" option when adding a new printer?

it takes a while to load and is tedious to sift through but there's a lot of drivers for older printers in there.

I've also had decent luck looking for drivers made for other printers that use the same "print engine".
Takes a little research to find out what ones, but can be rewarding.
...or try a slightly different model that's close.

As far as recommendations for new-

We've had extremely good luck with our Canon MFT 4800 B&W laser.
10 years plus.
Might be my new "best printer ever made" after the HP LJ IV.
