I do reverse engineering of parts the aftermarket does not.

I would like to RE the mounting base for the A Body console tach.

67 up to (????)

I have never had one in my hands so I don't know what parts would be needed to make a proper mount

I suspect the plastic, the metal and perhaps the hollow bolt and nut (unless that part is part of the tach.)

I will pay shipping both ways and would need it for maybe 2 to 3 weeks.

My intent is to make 3D printed Stainless Steel parts as close to the original as possible.

Alternately detailed photos and key dimensions might work.

I have worked on several parts for @j_anderson in this manner with awesome results!

Pm me if you would like to participate.

I believe there are two slightly different mounts, one for 68 and earlier and one for 69 and up. Reason I suspect this is because of the different top plates on the console itself. 68 and earlier have a machined groove running the length of the console. The pedestal, mount or adapter whatever its called has two small nubs on the bottom. I believe these sit in the recessed groove. The 69 and up console has a flat surface and doesn't require the "nubs". Will try and post pictures later today.

Took a couple of quick pics before I forget. Can post better later if needed

That's great info.

Thanks.

Super easy to make one CAD file and have them as a feature that can be turned on and off

Anyone know what years this particular mount covers 67 to 69 for sure but 70 thru ???

I would like to reproduce the mounting base for the A Body console tach.

67 up to (????)

I need to barrow one for a week or two

I will pay shipping both ways

Dana's working on some parts for me and his test samples look awesome. Can't wait to see the finished product. Standup guy. Hope someone can help you out.

I have a couple of leads but we All know that it's the end game that counts but if you do aquire a unicorn /put me on the waiting list

Hate to say it, but those that have them know they are worth $$. You reopping them will only "lower" their value.
My 2 cents, hope someone proves me wrong.

Dana...if you can find one of these console tach mounting gaskets (A or B body), the shape is the same...and the spacer is 1/2 to 5/8" thick. I had a guy make a spacer from billet aluminum for me after looking for years for the plastic ones.

I think a lot of folks want the old school look with out the price for rare parts that sometimes are pitted, damaged, incomplete, or flat unavailable. There will always be a market for original parts to the "I need original" guy.

I'm my case I redesign stock parts and 3d print them because too many of them meet the above criteria or re-pops break. I redesigned my ebrake handle so now it a bit larger, stronger, uses a threaded set screw instead of a roll pin and looks cool in black carbon fiber. Best of all it works and I can change the design, print another in different material and/or colors.

100% agree. I was just pointing out to Dana why "I THINK" noone was offering an original up for 3d printing. @65Val had a great idea about using a gasket.
I would love to see a pic of your ebrake handle when u can?

the last one that showed up here went for $145 or more and was gone in 60 seconds! I believe "HEMIX" had it.

Part of borrowing parts to copy is the value of the original and the risk involved with loaning a valuable part to a basic stranger.

I get that.

I am so appreciative of the folks who loan me parts.

I have bought several parts to copy, like the chrome backup light bezels for 67 and 69 barracudas. I have been lucky to have several local buddies with parts that I have been able to borrow.

The metal part for kendog 170 is on its way here and the metal backup light holder prototype is coming in with it.

Also metal 68 up heater control pins, soon 67 heater control pins too.

And a 67 to 69 dart convertible top opening end trim!

Also thanks for the kudos from j_anderson and kendog 170

I would love to make this a career but the startup costs and the piece prices are cost prohibitive at this point.

VERY ROUGH first draft from photos I estimated the large hole is 3/4"

Here you go in PA6 (Nylon) Carbon Fiber. The material and lighting make it look grey but its black. The gritty or rough texture is the material. This was my first one with no post finish work and the first time I ran the PA CF.
