I usually post on B bodies and asked this same question but it got deleted.

My friend has a small junkyard and I was out there today. He had a '76 Scamp. It's beige with a brown vinyl top that's almost all gone from the roof. I'll give my best description. Slant 6 not sure which version. AC, PS, PB, AT on the column. Showing 86K, could be 186K. The interior was nice. Bench set that cracked on some seams when I touched it. Colorado doesn't get much rust but a lot of sun damage. Some rust behind the rear wheels on the lower quarters. Hubcaps are still there. I asked my friend and he said he got it running but it wouldn't go in gear even after adding Trans X. Been sitting for 2-3 years probably. I know my B Body prices but not A Bodies. This has the later model front end and I of course like the earlier style.

He's asking $2500. Can you guys give me an opinion on it?

Bought this for $4,000 10 years ago. Slant 6 driving car.

Finding any solid, classic 2 door car for 2500 or less is pretty difficult today.

In the junkyard 2-3 years
76 Scamp
Slant six none running
Bad Trans. Interior is crap.
What's to Love ?
I try to buy these kind of cars all the time.
These sellers are delusional. .
I just got a 70 Dart V8 complete sounds about the same condition for $500.
After the seller came back reality

$2500 would be if it ran and drove. Beak 73-76 Darts don't fetch as much as 72 and older Darts.
I agree with the $1000 to max of $1500.

If it goes down the road straight and has brakes, maybe 2500. What you describe 500 to a 1000, it would help if you had pictures.

Finding one with a title or that can be titled also affects value.

Again, difficult to find under 2500.

if it can be had with a clean (not salvage title) I would say max $2k, but more likely $1000-1500 tops...drum or disc brakes? '76's built before Jan 1, 1976 can still be small bolt pattern/10" drums in the front. the 76 should still be a forged crank/solid lifter motor, but have the peanut plug head that doesn't use spark plug tubes, with induction hardened exhaust seats and no air injection holes. IMHO, that's the sweet spot when it comes to slanties...
