It varies.I was thinking that both sides had the 4 ears but this block they are only on one side, is this the way they are ?
The 73 318 downstairs here is 4 on both sides.

That's the cylinder core/block casting # I used for 4.040...now keep it quiet before everyone catches on...
I was thinkin it was a poly block. That would explain it. They are not easy to tell apart unless you know what you're lookin for.

They start casting the previous yr... so its '66 for '67 and so on...In 66 they were still polys I think. From what I remember the LA318 was introduced in 1967
