Anybody know how I can fix my hood hinges? They are super sloppy, and have always rubbed against my fenders when I would close the hood, it's done this ever since I got the car.

It's that U-coat-it stuff that you see advertised in Hot Rod magazine. It's pretty good, it would have been better if I hadn't tried to lay it in 110 degree heat and put the non-skid stuff in it.

That looks like a great start, I've been there and done that, Keep it up ! Label things as you take em off, bag up the bolts... It will make life easier down the road. I'm 2 years of spare time into my project and it's finally rust free... :-) Just installed Frame connectors last 2 days. You'll just want to weld them in not bolt em... (Ask me how I know) The 10pt cage next and then finish bodywork and paint I'll post a progress pic too just cause I can :-)

Hey whats the best method for stripping this thing down? I was thinking about a wire cup wheel on my angle grinder after I wash the dust/dirt off with soap and water. Eric, got any tips?

That's easy. Paint Stripper for the inital removal. A putty knife and an old coffee can or two. Work section by section. Then sand with a dual action sander and 80 grit to get it clean and shiny. Then reprime with self etching primer. The same day !!! You'll be surprized how fast it re-rusts. Once primed in the self etching stuff it wont rerust on ya while other details gets done. Hope that helps, ask if ya need more info. :thumblef:

OK, how did you get into the little nooks and crannys?

I dont suggest sandblasting without a lot of plastic sheets and taping. The sand gets into every nook n cranny. I sandblasted the underside of mine and some rust areas, 6-8 months later i'm still finding sand in the cowl area, frame rails, etc. I gotta go over the car now n get it all out before the paintbooth !!!! Grrr Extra work.
