Anybody know how I can fix my hood hinges? They are super sloppy, and have always rubbed against my fenders when I would close the hood, it's done this ever since I got the car.

It's that U-coat-it stuff that you see advertised in Hot Rod magazine. It's pretty good, it would have been better if I hadn't tried to lay it in 110 degree heat and put the non-skid stuff in it.

That looks like a great start, I've been there and done that, Keep it up ! Label things as you take em off, bag up the bolts... It will make life easier down the road. I'm 2 years of spare time into my project and it's finally rust free... Just installed Frame connectors last 2 days. You'll just want to weld them in not bolt em... (Ask me how I know) The 10pt cage next and then finish bodywork and paint I'll post a progress pic too just cause I can

Hey whats the best method for stripping this thing down? I was thinking about a wire cup wheel on my angle grinder after I wash the dust/dirt off with soap and water. Eric, got any tips?

Sandblasting is an option if you've got the room to pull it off outside....

That's easy. Paint Stripper for the inital removal. A putty knife and an old coffee can or two. Work section by section. Then sand with a dual action sander and 80 grit to get it clean and shiny. Then reprime with self etching primer. The same day !!! You'll be surprized how fast it re-rusts. Once primed in the self etching stuff it wont rerust on ya while other details gets done. OK, how did you get into the little nooks and crannys?

Spray paint stripper/ wire brush. I also sandblasted where needed.

I dont suggest sandblasting without a lot of plastic sheets and taping. The sand gets into every nook n cranny. I sandblasted the underside of mine and some rust areas, 6-8 months later i'm still finding sand in the cowl area, frame rails, etc. I gotta go over the car now n get it all out before the paintbooth !!!! Grrr Extra work.
