I don't have a Big block or small block but i do like a weber carb on a six
saw this and thought of you...

Chrysler 440 44 IDF Weber Conversion K9440-48 - Shop Now

i would suggest you won't get top WOT power like a well sorted 4 or 2 x 4 barrel set up
but you would get neck bending torque from 1500 upwards with the right CR and cam due to the fact that you now have basically 8 individual carbs and its port on port induction on equal length runners

The Fajs Chinese versions if IDF are meant to be OK as well... ask a swedish rally driver they seem to like em.

different for those that like to be a bit contrary and do stuff cos they can

Webers are fantastic , also available in 48MM venturi , if you buy the 48s you can put a smaller venturi in for tuning.
With a 48IDA fitted with a 42mm choke each barrel ( according to research on a flowbench ) should feed 330 cfm
more than enough for a Big Block , this setup was used on the IMSA Greenwood Big Block Vettes.
I ran Webers (2 side draft 45MM DCOE) on my GT-4 car , the closest thing to fuel injection you can get.

struck me as a nice way to make any standard-ish engine feel very much not standard. If you know what your inlet flows you will know if the carb suits.. i.e you would not have to throw away everything but the block to have a lot of fun.

other option i suppose is 2 DCOE on a DCOE to 4bbl adapter or indeed that times 2.. expensive way into 1200 CFM or more of carburation but good if race series dictates you have to use standard manifold... would certainly look different, you miss out of the torque at lower RPMs though.

Wow, I wonder when that manifold was made! When I wanted to put 48 IDF Webers on my 440 in the late 80s, I made my own intake!

48 IDF Webers on my 440, circa 1988. !970 Val coupe, US 67 Dart

That's super cool but the price  You could get a port EFI kit and single-plane manifold for that, or a tunnel ram and 2x4-bbls. Boy do I want one though.

Dave. Yes, on both counts....

I sold that car & bought my GTO in 1995. I put the same Weber system on it in 2005, so 20 yrs now, & still love it. All home made including linkages, which are critical for idle & off idle synchronisation.

Yeah

thats when you go after him for the manifold and linkage kit
and buy 4 IDFs off the chinese. Jilin-Fajs made Weber's are seemingly pretty good provided you clean em out first...

In Europe you have two camps those that say only genuine weber work....all else is rubbish.... they get very aerated about the fact...probably because they paid $400 per carb
then you have the swedish guys who like to drive small 4 cylinder cars at very high speed through forests on dirt tracks.... who seem to like the fact that a chinese version at 1/3 to 1/2 of the price, with a similar amount of work as you would have to put into a genuine version, works perfectly well....

swedish car guys are exceedingly "Car Guy" its a big hobby.. so if those guys have no problem....etc

the chinese are using new-ish tooling for their castings... one presumes the spanish are not

these days its a case of choose your poison

i Have some throttle bodies from Fajs have to say the quality seems very good .....

so you could get the manifold and go with these 50MM IDF throttle bodies.
they come with fuel rail and take standard bosch style injectors

and a cheap ECU (it does closed loop self learning as well, holley have not cornered that market)

like https://powermods.co.za/Pages/Shop.asp?N=DFI V1 ECU&PID=142210

3800 South African Rand is $220 USD even import and tax its nothing.....

TPS water Air Lambda and Oil temp standard hella or bosh parts
the ECU comes with connectors and a lot of wire
