Idle issues

I have an edelbrock 650 avs and was driving along about 35 and had to stop quick, now the car will idle in neutral and park, but if you put it in gear at idle it just dies, trying to leave a light is a challenge, but once your moving does better but not great

Is your distributor tight? Could it have walked and messed up your timing?


Or some kind of dirt broke loose and is in the needle and seat of the carb.

that's where I would start looking.
