How common was an A/C car with manual steering? converting my 67 Dart with power steering to manual, will need an idler set up for the water pump. I know, can run run belt just from crank to water pump but would like to get an idler. has anyone fabbed one up from other makes ?

Looks like a standard 440 idler that was on my motor. It had AC and P/S though. I don't have the motor here anymore (it's at the shop with the car), so I can't confirm why it would be needed. Can't see why you would need it if the car has power steering.

I know you don't have P/S, just trying to figure out why mine would have it when it did have P/S. Might be easier to find if it is the same idler bracket though.

Are you using the stock 67 brackets and pulleys, and cast iron water pump? If so there should be 3 belts, just take the PS belt off. Or have you switched over to the 70 up stuff with the aluminum water pump-then you need that special idler and pulley.
