This is interesting NHRA has a race scheduled there.

the Koretsky family did buy it. Now the IHRA owns it and according to their official statement the Koretsky family will still be operating the track.I thought I heard that Kenny Koretsky bought it.
I agree. Let's hope the racers that have been "married" to the NHRA for decades, while NHRA s**t on them, will support the IHRA.NHRA has been shitting the sportsman racers for many decades. They've always paid the bills. Now, all these guys and money, will be welcomed where they're appreciated.
I said 10 years ago, NHRA has about 10-20 years of life left.
Can confirm.I read somewhere, here or A side, that IHRA bought the WDRA. I guess that means that the only track in socal I haven't raced on is now IHRA. (Street Legal, in Perris ca).
I love it! Gonna head out there as soon as I can. I think next race is next year however. A four second race is better than no race!
This is the first time IHRA has been in southern california, and I LOVE having an alternative to the (f$#king) nhra!
I tow an extra hour and fifteen minutes down here in Florida to go to the Orlando Speedworld track rather than the NHRA-owned Gainesville track (plus $39 in turnpike tolls!) It is hard to describe how much better it is run. The overall atmosphere at Orlando just feels more fun. The track prep I can't tell a difference as the avatar has more tire than it should for an 11.0 sec car. At Gainesville, you are kept in the dark as to what is happening when, most PA speakers don't work(!), the scales haven't been open during a bracket race in the 2 years I've lived here, etc, etc. One race night finished at like 3:00am or something!! You're in the middle of time runs or eliminations and suddenly the track shuts down for no apparent reason. And of course no communication why. It's as if they begrudgingly hold bracket races - the backbone of the little guys racing.I read somewhere, here or A side, that IHRA bought the WDRA. I think Perris is about 60 miles or so from my place in california.I tow an extra hour and fifteen minutes down here in Florida to go to the Orlando Speedworld track rather than the NHRA-owned Gainesville track (plus $39 in turnpike tolls!) IMO, Orlando has a completely different vibe. Very well run, things move right along, you know what is happening when, etc, etc. Heck, this past September we actually had a rainout after round 1 for all classes so they split the purses and gave everyone still in their fair slice. Buyback guys got their $$ back. Stuff like that aljust adds to the aura there.
I don't know what the new Milan (Darana?) Dragway is like but when Perry owned it, it was a great place to race as well.
Thanks for the information. I would personally rather see stock-bodied cars run each other over Dragsters, Funny cars & even Pro-Stock cars. I guess NHRA thinks THAT's where the money is.the Koretsky family did buy it. Now the IHRA owns it and according to their official statement the Koretsky family will still be operating the track.
I read a bunch of comments on another site where the local racers were complaining/fretting about the possibility of having to go the 1/8 mile instead of 1/4 mile. Nobody said what class they were in but i assume bracket racers.
