I'm babysitting a deadly assissin.

Meet Sophie, my sister in law's 12 yr old girl.
She dragged out a mouse and two moles out of my garage last year.
She found my garage clear this time.

She's the sweetest dog, snuggles up to me on the couch when she's here.. but damn, she goes all hulk on a mouse or mole. She always sniffs out every corner in my garage when she's here.

Dachshunds are at heart, a killing machine. When I was working at the animal shelter 35+ years ago, a guy adopted a bunch of purebred pups, came back about a year later and asked me if I wanted to see what those 4 pups can do now, we'll go rabbit hunting. The main dog sniffs up a rabbit, the other three fan out. She followed that rabbit right down the hole, drug it out, rabbit screaming (and yes they can). The other three caught two more coming out the other side. It was amazing. Dachshunds are awesome.

Our Lhasa Opso was the most gentle and Loving Dog ever...Unless he saw a Rabbit. He killed more than I can count.They would come out of our pasture to eat our grass and he would get them.

Our rescue dog Reese. Looks like Sophie but more wire haired and taller, same ears. Got a rat once and a bird but she's mostly into lizards.....spends hours in the branch pile poking and sniffing. Her and the Dynamic duo!
