I'm sick of these debates over the ultimate ignition...

We've recently had pages and pages of arguments over who makes the ultimate ignition, with HEI fans and Mopar ignition fans yelling at each other endlessly and nothing being accomplished. So it's clear there is only one way to end these arguments: I am going to build the real ultimate ignition myself and demonstrate it.

This ignition tosses out the usual ignition coils in favor of a bank of high voltage capacitors that can charge from 60 to 120 kV. Instead of a distributor, each spark plug gets fed power from the capacitor bank through a krytron tube - these are one of the few devices that can switch this much voltage with accurate enough timing control.

The biggest problem is going to be getting parts. It already took a lot of talking to get the old Soviet era electronics package through customs, even though my source was careful to check them with a Geiger counter before sending them over. And Russia's cracking down on exports of that sort of thing. I had lined up a good source in China, but those corruption purges caught him selling missile fuel and filling them up with water. Once I get that solved and get them into production, I'll post up some dyno tests.

You may want to consider looking into one of these, no importing from another country required.

Oh no, here we go again. Good luck on that. Every member here has their own brand of "snake oil" they think is best. I'm a cheap *** by nature. My mexican friends tell me I am pinche' . And as such, i gravitate towards the HEI crowd, but if theres something better and on the cheap, I can be tempted. Let the games begin.

No you don't it mounts right on a GM hei dist in place of the cap. Some mods to the hood are usually needed.

Big ole hole, and a gnarley hood scoop. Thats good because I didnt want to hunt down a flux capacitor, or buy a CYBER truck. I just am not a fan of the fat cap HEI. It obstructs my view of venus.

Dilithium crystals. You can’t go wrong. Properly mounted in a tri-linear phasolator, they will outperform any energy source known to man. Just don’t let them overheat.

My brother and cousin would travel in the 67 Barracuda at Warp 1 (50 mph), Warp 2 (100 mph), but could not make Warp 3 (150 mph). The closest they got to warp 3 was 140 mph. Thanks for reminding me.
