I have a 71 Duster with a 360, I have added air conditiong from Classic Auto Air. I have 2 electric fans, electric fuel pump, electronic igniton and having problems with low amperage. Trying to adapt 120 amp Dodge Denso from 93 p/u to single pulley water pump system, because air conditiong pulley takes up second spot with adapter from Classic Auto Air. With the stock brackets and the new alternator the back of the alternator hits the head. If I move it forward to clear the cylinder head then the pulley is too far forward to match up to the water pump and crank pulley. Does anyone make brackets to mount the alternator further out toward the fender well or out and down a bit? Six months of trying to upgrade the standard Mopar alternator and nearly $300.00 in expense, not to mention the cost for beer has left us with an alternator that is beautiful and $1500.00 worth of air conditioning that is non functional due to overheating and lack of amperage. Its' Mothers Day PLEASE HELP !

I've got a '72 Demon with a 408 and Classic Air. In order to make it fit we had to machine the bracket for the idler pulley and get a different idler for it. Here a couple of pictures that may help?

I've also got dual fans and electric fuel pump and as you can see in the second pic I upgraded to an aftermarket radiator / fan setup. I don't have any cooling problems at all and I upgraded to a 100 amp alternator, no electrical problems at all!

The stock radiator, if that's what you're using, is probably marginal at best. I recored my original to 3-core but with the added thickness couldn't fit a fan, stock or aftermarket. That's when I bit the bullet and went with the BeCool system, works great!

Im using a similiar alternator I got it from summit 100 am fit right on doesnt take any mods.
