info on cleaning corroded bulb sockets, please!

I just blast them with baking soda, a cheap hand held sandblaster is all that is needed.
Then rinse with water, they will look new.
Before putting the bulbs back in, coat with dielectric grease.

That might work good!

Just because its a grease doesn't mean it provides long term moisture protection.
Dialectric grease is primarily intended to go on the insulation and provide excellent electrical resistance even when there is very high voltage differentials.

The green blue on this connector is copper oxide in the dielectric grease. That grease was only a couple years old - and no I did not attempt a deep stream crossing in that time. LOL.

The brown grease on this bulkhead connector is, to the best of my knowledge, been there since AMC assembled it in 1985.

Interesting, huh.

Kind of like that idea, wonder if an airbrush gun would work?
I doubt it, the tip would be too small.
I just use a hand held blaster from tractor supply, they are like $20 and common baking soda from the grocery store.

The top emblem for my grandpa old farm tractor was cleaned up in a few minutes with soda and a hand held blaster.
