Anyone have tips and ticks to get the lockstrip into the rear windshield gasket on a 67 Notch?
The few you tubes I watched went off camera with the struggle and came back on camera with a completed job several hours later.

Thanks!

Not Armor-all, but lube a mallet Scott, @pettybludart, me and a puckered arse the entire time.
Armor-all and a rubber hammer.

Yes 1 year only. Now when I say that, I believe 67-9 verts used same piece but only on the bottom side to side windshield piece. So now I'm contradicting myself lol.
Is the lockstrip on a '67 different than any other A-body lockstrip?

I knew it was a one yr only deal. I guess I meant - do they install any different than any other lockstrips?

Ahh I got ya. Ours was a *****. I honestly thought the glass(orig) was gonna break lol. This was the only lockstrip type I've dealt with.

Correct, the 67-69 Barracuda/Dart convertibles used the same (67) lock-strip.

Thanks to all that are chiming in...I appreciate your input.

Here is a picture of the new lockstrip next to a piece of the original. It is different than the lockstrip on the windshield on my 63 Valiant and 84 D-100.

And to add to the application dilema...I have a 68 notch, manufacture date September of 1967 that has the one off 67 rear windshield lockstrip gasket and not the window clips and stainless molding.

I bought a 67 fastback last year and it had the "plastic chrome" strips on the back window but not the front. I bought the strips from Dave Layson in Washington state at Layson Restorations and he explained that the 67 windshield was a rubber mount with the lock strip. Mine has the lock strip and the the "plastic chrome" trin replaces that. I took the car to half a dozen glass shops up here in Edmonton, Alberta but nobody knew anything about them or wanted to try removing the lock strip and installing the "plastic chrome". Dave sent me instructions and I have found a shop that seems to know how to install them. I can email Dave's instructions if you think that will help you.
