Can an instrument panel from a Slant 6 vehicle work on a V8 engine?

I do believe the instrument panel does not know what engine is up front.

Chime in if I ran wrong.

Dave is right to a point. Check the part numbers for temp. sender and oil press. sender for the old 6 cyl. against the numbers for the donor V8. If they are the same, things should work just fine. If senders are different numbers there might be a problem. Hope someone else can help on that point. Invest in new sending units no matter what. Cheap insurance.

They are the same, some are year specific for seat belt light.
