Insulation on valley cover small block

What are your thought on putting a insulated mat on the valley cover on the raised intakes like the victors, airgaps?
Help keep the heat from the engine down from the intake runners. Thinking of doing it on my super Victor to help keep the fuel cool since it runs under the runners(fuel injected) but also help keep the charge cooler.
 

You could try it. Use a digital non contact thermometer to check the difference. Big blocks had insulation from the factory.
 
Was going to check it once up and running, was looking at the DEI adhesive one so it stays on place.
 
I did this, it’s a phenolic plate. Sits on the front and rear china walls. Takes the place of the cork end strips.

That's an awesome idea and great job on it but I can't do that with the super Victor intake
