I have an m1 intake with 4150 pattern. Now that I am switching to alcohol and a 1050 dominator I pulled a 2" carb adapter off the shelf.

440, 570 lift cam, 255 @50 with 3500 stall, eddy ported heads, steel crank, new rods, dome slugs, 12:1 compression, 4.88 gear, coil over ladder bar, race weight 2850.

Is this gonna kill the car?

Any help would be great!

I hardly think with a 4.88 gear that will kill the car. I think the general rule is every 1" adds 1K RPM to the top side.

The biggest thing with alcohol is to remember it's burn pattern and energy capacity is much different than gasoline. Alcohol doesn't carry as much "energy" as gasoline does. You have to dump more alcohol in to make the same power as gas. Which has an effect on how much of the cylinder you are filling up.

Which alcohol you looking to run? My personal experience is with methanol on the circle track. I love the smell of methanol in the morning.

We just switched to alcohol. 440 .30 over 10-1,.557, 906 heads,M1,950<4.30 gear. Picked up a gary williams 1050 and had to use a 2 in adapter. I thought the 1050 and adapter was going to kill mine. The fastest the car has been was 7.18 in 1/8. On alcohol the car picked up .1 in 60 foot, and has run a best of 6.83. Picked up 5 mph. Car takes a while to warm up. added a lean out valve to spacer. Also use a 125 nitrous plate, a small fuel pump and a 1 quart fuel cell to warm car on gas to save on alcohol.

Sounds similar to my setup. I have eddy rpm heads and 4.88 gear. What converter you run? How much does your car weigh?

3350 with driver. 10" TCI street convertor. 2500 rpm starting to lift front end

You will pick up hp but not a lot. You will gain midrange torque. Quite a bit. Your going to look at your plugs in a whole different way. They will stay clean. Google plug reading 101 by mike canter. Methanol really likes stack injection. A set of hilborns would really give your car a whole new attitude. Been running methanol for about 30 years now myself. Good stuff...
