Is My Steering Column Missing Something??

Hey everybody, I pulled the steering column out of my 71 Demon 340 project so I can paint the firewall and clean and paint the column, when I took it out that plastic bushing at the end of the column was just hanging out on the bottom flopping around, it looks to me like there should be more down there than what's there. Is there another bushing or some kind of seal that's missing?? Got any ideas where I might find parts for this, I'm also trying to find a horn button? Thanks.....Mike.

I do not think that you are missing anything. Some other types of columns had lower bearings, but i don't believe those do. The white cover is helt in by that wire clip. When the cupler slides on to the steering box it will center the shaft as it gets bolted up. Hopet his helps you. Matt
