I am missing this piece and someone told me that the hood lip molding is the same on a 65 coronet as my 66 dart gt

Can someone shed some light on this?

they actually make a hood lip reproduction for the coronet.

My '65 Coronet hood is much wider than my '65 Dart.

The Dart comes to a point. The trim on my friends '65 Hemi clone is straight. Not sure about width.

I'm not sure if the Coronet piece is the same or not, however there is a cure for the 66 Dart hood trim if your car is a daily driver and not a 100% showroom restoration. Most Auto Parts Stores have a section of universial type trim. Custom Chrome, Flexable interior/exterior molding in 3/4" worked for my 66 Dart. It sticks on and can easily be removed if necessary. 9 out of 10 people will never notice its not original, and it looks a lot better then some "Junk Yard" piece that is covered with dents and oxidation. Give it a try, I think you will be pleasently suprized. All you will lose is about 10 bucks. Hope this helps,
