Well, they dont build valves like they used to.
If you are going to tackle the belt, get the kit-idlers tensioners seals or whatever is required. Nothing sucks more than a seal or something failing right after a belt change. Check into the tools required too, as pulleys may need to be locked.
Even to buy the tools will be worth the savings compared to shop rate.
Need to do belt in my caravan,kit has seals and the water pump.

Got my Tundra timing belt project done today. I'd much rather work on my Barracuda!! But I feel better about not ending up like the picture in the first post!
Wound up buying a used engine. $2200.00 bucks. I'd say that was a good move on your part.
