Is this dash gap normal?

Hey FABO,

I just noticed this gap between the dash frame and the cowl/pillar. Is this normal or am I missing some piece here? It's the same on both sides.

Does the windshield, windshield gasket, and outer trim cover the gap?

This is the dash I pulled out of the car when I tore it down.
