According to the Mopar Chassis book, a body 8-3/4 track width was 55.60" and spring seat center to center was 43.00." next lowest would be a b body with a track width of 59.20" to 62.00" depending on the year.

51.40" was the measurement for the 7-1/4 axle.

thats one hell of a nice Dart you got there!

I just welded on a set of spring perches for a 73 dart sport and the center of the perch to perch was 42.75". Looks like an a body to me.

That POS chart is WRONG!!! 51.40 is no way in hell correct. I know two or three people cut one to that length and GOOD LUCK getting a stock set up axles in it! Too short.

The 55.6 number is the track width which has nothing to do directly with the total axle width

You want correct lengths for stuff look here.

If the housing is about 53" spanning over the pumpkin, should be 52 5/8" linear, and perches are 43" c to c, it's an A-body rear.
