jeep and dodge ram transmission

Hi all, i need to change fluid and filter in both my dodge ram 5.2 and 04 jeep grand cherokee I6, they both have pans that look like the 518/727 i beleive they are the 46rh, anyway would either of these transmissions benifit from a VB kit upgrade?

both already have coolers installed and both of them tow a lot.

Can't hurt. They had some issues that the Trans-go kits resolve and extend their life.

bTW: Are you positive that Jeep has the same trans? I thought they went to the 45rfe or 545rfe by 2004.

A code Mopar used to designate their transmissions. Just like the RH is after 46 on the older transmissions. I'm not positive but think it stands for rear wheel drive, fully electronic.

I think you may be right, the pan is same shape as the 727. I will check before i purchace parts.. Just currious if they would benifit..

0pps its the 42re, according to google, which is based off the a500. me sooooooooooooo wrong, guess i should have looked closer at the pan..

anyway i am all for longer life..

If the pans look alike they have to be the same trans cause the 45rfe/545rfe has alot bigger pan with alot more bolts.
