Just blew up my rear end VIDEO

-
My old partner's A/Gas dragster had an 8.75 behind a 500" injected Rodeck. Before the Rodeck the same chassis had spent considerable time in the sand with a Blown Donovan and paddle tires. I'm sure it was spooled but all that abuse never hurt it.

I built a 9.25 for my 414/510ft;lbs Duster. I drop then clutch fairly often. Street tires though. 4000 miles later no issues.
This rear has been beat and put away wet fir long time. I’ve been beating on it for 6 years now. It’s time had come. Lol. How narrow did you cut the rear

I just had it cut to stock A body length with 8.75 axle ends to get rid of the C clips.

I feel sure being the 489 case the crush sleeve is what failed. They cannot take a boat load of power. If you go back with the 8 3/4, use a crush sleeve eliminator kit. They add some strength.
