So what i gathered from an old thread which I can't even find now about k frames is to touch up all the crappy factory welds and reinforce the lower control arm pin sleeves.. well kinda.

I am using my spool mount slant six k frame as a guinea pig here and I'm trying some stiffening ideas and anything to over restore these cars

I'll add more as I go along because it's a current work in progress.

After grinding the weld nuggets down. I was careful to grind the welds only not the other surrounding metal

For sure, reinforce the steering box mounts. Firm Feels' site has a pretty good feature on this . Also, fully weld the seams. Looks like pivot tubes are already done. Good time to do all this while K-Member is out.

Here's some pics from their site.

It looks like they removed the factory plate that goes on the front to reinforce the strut rods and welded a washer on the front. I assume that's for looks because that looks better than the bulky factory plate but with the factory plate present I don't see why it needs to be any thicker

To reinforce the LCA pin tubes, I cut the bottom of the k-member open and weld it on the inside.
