I have a fresh rebuilt /6 and 727 auto tranny. Haven’t yet installed in my ‘65 A100 pickup. Was curious if I bolted engine and tranny together (not in truck), could I adjust the kick down linkage? It would be so much easier on a stand rather than down inside the “doghouse” in the truck. Can it be done? Thanks,Steve.

Sure you can. Make sure your throttle cable, after install, pulls carb to wide open when floored. It’s all the same.

Yes. Do it on the stand if you want. Easy to adjust that regardless of in the truck or on a stand.

Thanks guys for your responses. I was hoping to do it on a stand, because it would be a bit difficult in the truck and certainly a little rough on this old body of mine!

Wide open throttle should get you full open on the transmission lever. That may be close enough you won't need to fine tune.
