Last night around 2 a.m. i heard a loud BOOM! and the power went off turns out 2 kids(Not sure of exact ages) wrapped there Jeep around a telephone pole about a block up the road from me.
One was killed on impact the other was life-flighted to the hospital.
This makes 3 killed along this road in the last 15 years, last time it was a girl that died after slamming into a telephone pole straight across from my neighbors house.
First 2 times alcohol was involved, gonna have to wait and see what it says in the newspaper to see what caused it this time.

I have been in a few bad wreaks myself but thank god I made a full recovey. When in the hospital the nurises said that car wreaks are the worst things they see. I ask about gun shootings but they claim that car wreaks happen everyday all day and night and everybody from babies to old people lose eyes, legs, etc. These cars-all cars-can be loads of fun and good times but you need to becareful all the time and never never drive after drinking.

That wreck happened Fri. night then on Sun. night 2 more kids(18 and 19 y.o.) were killed just a few miles from where i work!
The article in the paper said they were doing around a 100 miles and hour in a Honda Civic, when the driver lost control hit the guardrails and into a tree.
The car was destroyed it said the engine and front wheels were a hundred feet from the point of impact, both kids were thrown from the car and found along with the dash and steering wheel about 50 ft. away!
The pics. show what was left of the car,you can barely tell it was even a car!

It's not the poles fault, or even the gaurdrails... the drivers F`ed up in a BIG way. Too bad for their familys though. I was lucky too over 30 yrs. ago.

When I was 16 I wrapped my friends `67 Polara around a telephone pole quiet thoroughly. I hit it at just behind the right front wheel after sliding it for a while from about 70 MPH. Best driver education I ever received... I walked away with a cut in my scalp and my girlfriend at the time got a cut on her knee that scarred. I'll NEVER forget the emotion of coming out of the ER and meeting MY parents, my GIRLFRIENDS parents, and my FRIENDS parents, whom I borrowed the car from! Yeah...it wasn't even my wheels I wadded up.:sad1:

Yeah, I F`ed up too. But I was lucky....

Guess i been lucky never been in any accidents although i came close a few times with idiots pulling out in front of me!
My brother on the other hand has had his share of accidents, hit a deer on the interstate with a 73 Polara, hit a school bus that went through a STOP sign in a Ford pickup, tore up an AMC Spirit pretty severely and the one he was in last summer was probably the worst one when some idiot rear ended him and pushed into another car.

Yeah you were very luckly, I hit a new 1987 jeep semi-head on after skidding for awhile too at around a good 70 mph-when in to a curve too fast and the back end came out and I hit the jeep before I could get it back under control. Broke my upper jaw, lost 3 teeth, broke my leg and hip and was F up for a month. Was in the hospital for 19 days-was 7 months before I felt and walk fine. Even today I limp if I walk too long but hey if I had anybody with me they would have die for sure and I was not lets say 100% sobor so I might just be getting out of jail.

Now-for the last 10 years-I never drink or do anything else, so if I ever have another oh oh, I won't be going bye bye for 20 years or more-at least it be very hard for the cops to do it.

I also total my very nice 1970 Olds Cutlass-everything was bent, even the motor block was crack. It was the worst day of my life I think 08/24/87 :sad9:
