[Found!] Knob needed

Earlier knobs had a 10-24 hex or allen socket head set screw. That could replace the missing spring clip thingy.

If you found the right knob with no spring you could use silicon caulking to glue it on so it would come off pretty easy if you needed to take it off and wouldn't ruin anything.

To me it’s all about doing things right, gluing something together isn’t my idea of success especially when you spend thousands to do everything else right. I will keep looking until I can find what I need to do things right.

Well that's all well and good.I rather do it right too but until you can do it right you can do it this way and have it looking right .It could take a long time to do it right

The car is in the process of being done so I have time to search until I find what I need. I was a craftsman my whole life and the one thing I learned early in my career was that what you do reflects on you.
