[Found!] Knob needed

I am in need of a wiper/washer knob for my 68 Barracuda, switch number is 2864415.

The gentleman has several knobs but unfortunately all of the flat springs that are normally used to hold the knobs on have been lost over the years. I am still looking for a complete knob with the retainer spring.

First the size difference is way to big and secondly I would have to damage the switch, knob, dash or all three if I needed to remove it.

Earlier knobs had a 10-24 hex or allen socket head set screw. That could replace the missing spring clip thingy.

I understand that but it may not match all of the other knobs then.

One of the guys has a knob that says wash but he is trying to find the spring.

I have 2 WASH knobs
Both are large stem
Better check diameter

Finding a knob doesn't seem to be the problem now but finding one with the flat spring in it is.

If you found the right knob with no spring you could use silicon caulking to glue it on so it would come off pretty easy if you needed to take it off and wouldn't ruin anything.

To me it’s all about doing things right, gluing something together isn’t my idea of success especially when you spend thousands to do everything else right. I will keep looking until I can find what I need to do things right.

Well that's all well and good.I rather do it right too but until you can do it right you can do it this way and have it looking right .It could take a long time to do it right

The car is in the process of being done so I have time to search until I find what I need. I was a craftsman my whole life and the one thing I learned early in my career was that what you do reflects on you.

If anyone has a spring in a junk knob I could use the spring to make a complete good knob.
