Laptop problems.

I have a Dell Latitude C610 Laptop with a Toshiba 30GB hard drive. What does it sound like when the hard drive is getting ready to die, kind of a clicking whirrling sound?

yeah sounds like the heads are fuxored (industry term).

if it is still working at all you might consider getting any data off it you desire to keep

might also be the cooling fan is coming apart.

Bolth fans (big one on bottom is a pusher and the small one on the back is a puller?) are working fine and when I turn it upside down I can here the noise comming from the hard drive slot. It's a 30GB hard drive right now and it's not super full but more is better and I found a 60GB on ebay. Is this a decent price?

First thing I'd do is burn all your files to a CD and second call Dell, there might be warranty.

It was a refurbished laptop off ebay about 3 1/2 years ago so I have to just get one and swap it myself.

LOL talk about perfect timing. About 10 seconds after I saved all my stuff on a cd the laptop rebooted and said that there was no hard drive installed on the computer. So I found out what the problem was lol.

Check for dead laptops on ebay, most have dead screens, rape the hard drive out of one.

Too late, I just got a new 80GB hard drive off ebay for 62 bucks after shipping.
