What is probably the largest solid lifter cam you could use on the #5767 springs that come on edelbrock small block alum. heads in your humble opinion. Brochure says good to .575 lift but I know solids are a little different. Your input appreciated,Thanks Kevin.

Good question. I'm running a Comp Cam solid "Magum" series cam.

296-.525 lift. It clocks in a little less than the advertised lift. .022 lash.

On my BB eddu heads (I know you specified SB heads) they said the springs were good for .600 lift, I have the Mopar 590 cam with 1.6 rockers and with a dial indicator on the rocker arm was lifting .619 so I changed em out, way too close to coil bind to suit me.

The problem is not lift, but pressures. The Edelbrock springs are good for some modern grind cams (meaning fast rates of lift) up to like 240° @ .050. After that, most cams need a better spring. Howver, if your head guy is savvy he can order the inner springs from someone to create the right pressure. Or simply use the cam manufacturer's springs adn the Edelbrock retainers. That's what I do. I have yet to use the factory springs on those heads.
