Morning guys, well dipped into another thread , guy was pissed that I tried to break up the redicklenss of the thread and got shot down hard .:BangHead:

Nice. I think they call those "sport mirrors" I have a pair too. Mine are painted. Sold my original 67 mirror on ebay a million years ago to a guy in France. I think I got $35 for it.
Yes they are sport mirrors , that is funny BP because mine where chrome too, but the chrome was bad so I painted mine also . These are in pretty good shape , I am going to switch . I got these for $ 50 which is a real good deal.

Ok a real question, how do you get the pain to stick to the chrome, my door handles , pitted and I have fiberglass bumpers, was going to paint all gloss black ? Thoughts ?

I used fine water sandpaper ,just scuffed them up so the paint would stick , never had a problem with paint coming off . Thin coat tho !! BP probably has a better way .

I'm just the opposite. I'd sand blast them for some tooth and epoxy prime them then use a polyester filling primer to sand them smooth. Technically the chrome should be removed.

I like chrome but that's just me. Painting chrome I haven't had any luck but only tried it once.
I think the fiber glass bumpers would look good black and the door handles if you can get paint to stick to them.

Door handle is probably the hardest chrome area to get paint to stick, especially the button. They do have black chrome though. That stuff is cool but its different than paint and would not match the painted pumpers unless you did a spray black chrome on the bumpers like with the Cosmichrome system. Ya... Overthinking. lol

Did you get the shop clean Fred or have you been watching The Countdown To The Grammys all day? :poke:I'm headed to the shop now to clean-up too. Just had some leftover pizza for lunch. Been on the internet all morning and watched some Daytona qualifying.

Your postings are more than welcome here.
Y13 I saw you posted about chrome ECU. Saw Mancini today , they don't carry the chrome ECU anymore . They have the orange ECU now , has a 7 grand rev limiter . For $10.00 . Four pin. I think the gold is 10 grand rev limiter . I think the chrome was 8 grand.
