Morning Biff. Not that I could see but was talking to the neighbors and other people had there door kicked in but nothing was stolen. Cops won't do anything about it because the kids are under age. Neighbors are getting real upset with the kids and think there dad is gonna get strung up real soon. lol
So after work yesterday I was looking for a replacement pad for the sander, went to a shop 2 blocks from my work, no luck. They suggested another place a few blocks away and I was on the way there when this happened. Came over railroad crossing and a manhole cover on the other side has become slightly elevated from the pavement. Was only going about 25 mph but holy hell did it hit hard! Car immediately started shaking, I pulled over and took a look underneath. First thought I had was a crushed header but the engine still ran fine. Couldn't see much until after I limped it home at 10 to 15 mph and got it on the hoist. It could have been a lot worse, that transmission pan is tough sumbitch.
Yea for sure Randy. The 14 year old boy is the problem and I'm afraid that if he breaks into my house some night I might end up shooting him and really don't want to kill a child but would have no problem with the kids dad if he stepped in my house or garage.
Can't help feeling sorry the kid for his parents neglect but damn if I'm gonna sit back and let him ruin my home.
My neighbor worked for social services many years and said they don't want to take the kids from there parents unless some real good reasons.
I would think if the man hole cover is higher than the road the city should come good for the damage. Make sure you take lots of pictures and document everything. Is you car lowered at all? Good luck Randy as they can only say no which they probably will at first but put the pressure on. It's the same as a major pothole. They will bend wheels as you know but the city will come good for the damage. Talk to the mayor if you have to
That's sad. And the cops didn't come? They should take fingerprints if possible then check his prints. They're heading down the same road as the parents and they are obviously unfit.
Got the 300 undercoated this morning so now I have to clean it up maybe tomorrow. It will drip for a while and I'm ok with that. Cleaned up the Cuda went for a nice drive. Stopped at the cemetery where my buddy will be buried and he'll be about 50 ft away from me when I go. What are the chances?

If anything my car is probably a bit higher in the front with 26" tall tires. I was going to take some pics of the cover after work but forgot about it, just wanted to get home. I'll see if the city will cover it, but I won't hold my breath on that one.
Ordered a new u-joint last night from Rock Auto, $18.00 plus shipping, had some other stuff in the cart too so got it all coming now. I will check Summit for the cost of a new trans pan, it's not leaking so I don't think I'll worry too much about it. Just pisses me off, finally got it running decent and got a chance to put some miles on it.
