Agreed. 50 degree swing in temps in 4-5 days just seems odd. Then again, the High temps lately have been unseasonable, and maybe we’re settling back to more normal temps…..

I hope.
Those high temps sent my Apple trees to bloom now risk of frost. Really? Piss me off

Working on the “shep” right now, and once that’s done (insulation, wiring, heating, a/c, etc), and sell one of my Bumpsides I’ll be in the market for a Model A. Been several really nice ones on Marketplace here lately, but I’ve put the cart before the horse once too many times for my wife’s liking…

But someday!

The Model A was bought running in Miami Manitoba by my dad for $50. I was big enough to stand on front seat of 53 Buick Special and watch my mom steering the ford and tell dad if see was waving her hands around. Spent many days helping the old man work on that car. Rebuilt engine with poured Babbitt bearings interior done tan wide cord material, just needs paint. If you get one I have lots of tips learned from experience to share. Fred will also have a wealth of knowledge to help. Have fun.

My 29 AA is going to Minneapolis the end of this month, I'm hopping. Doing lunch for the FABO guys at the Mopar car show there.
It's all ready to go it just needs a bath and load it on the trailer. Will be a for sale sign in the window.
I hate to sell it but bills need to be paid.

In the late 80’s I worked for a parts company/machine shop that poured model A (and T?) bearings, but that was then….

I wonder how many places still pour Babbitt? Can’t be too many left.

I’m sorry to hear this, Fred, but I understand.

Looks like I won’t be able to make it this year, as Bazza is leaving his car in storage and I have a LOT of work to do while on my leave of absence, but since MITP is much closer to me geographically this year, if you or anyone else here, needs “local support” of any kind, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.

Thanks Jim you're a good guy.

Morning fellas.
Yesterday was mess of everything weatherwise.
Sun, rain, heavy rain, wind. If you didn't like the weather wait 5 minutes.
My wife was putting up the curtains and screens on the gazebo yesterday and they were blowing all over the place and she was getting frustrated. I told her to leave it till tomorrow but she was determined to do it and eventually she got it done.
She'll be glued to the tv tonight for the hockey game. I'll be downstairs watching NHRA.
Make it a good one

The one thing that gets me about that A is the two 3 thousand shims behind the upper two flywheel housing bolts. If there not in place the transmission will howl in 2nd gear like crazy and loud. Put those shims in it shut right up. :wtf:

Hey Murray, I have about a half a pickup load of parts lying around so if you need anything let me know before I sell the AA. all the parts are included with the truck when I sell it.
Extra carbs, manifolds, dist. parts, electric windshield wiper motors, radiator and I don't know what's all there never really looked.
I'll hold on to whatever you need.

Don’t really need much. The electric wiper motors? Do they mount outside of car or inside?

Inside, one is in the box it came in and looks new.
The original ones mount outside. I didn’t want to cut the valance inside so I repaired the exterior mount motor with a 12 volt Eldon slot car motor. But I see now Snyder’s sells a direct replacement. I’ll have to think on it and I’ll let you know.
