Well they couldn't agree on names , on top of it my last name cuts down on quite a few names, and this is the name they could agree on .

plus all the names they liked where taken by other family members.

i hear that one alot
what blows me away is how little we know about names...just this morning i was reading in Genesis (funny enough, i was actually following a rabbit trail on names, of all things) when i came across the name Judith
which of course reminded me of my first real girlfriend, Judith
well, the verse reads as follows
Genesis 26:34-35
And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite:
Which were a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah.

that got me thinking, this is the only mention of this lady, and it simply puts that she was a grief unto her inlaws

i guess im old fashioned, but i put a lot of thought into the names of my kids, and ive been very blessed that my wife has seen eye to eye with me on this
the only exception being the name Sjoerd, which is an old Dutch name meaning "defender of the blessing"
she hasnt been to excited about that one, but we havent needed boy name since our firstborn, and we had agreed on his name before we even met (meaning i have known for ages i wanted my firstborn to be named Brammetje, which is what my grandmother used to call me when i was little)

Wow talk about different names ! I am German myself and my wife is of English decent we only had a few disagreements on names. My brothers name was Holger . Not to many around here with that name but there are a lot in Germany. I myself like a lot of the Dutch names.
