My kids High school went on lock down about a month ago for a potential shooter. I got a text on my phone from the school district at the start.. scared the living **** out of me.
The school told all the kids to assemble in a separate building. My kid found his hockey buds, and they all left.. the kids with cars packed them with hockey team guys who were younger, and got the **** out of there. He called me about 10 minutes after the text, afraid I'd be mad about him leaving school. Told him to go home, bring the other guys, and call parents.
******* scary. I hate we live in times where I have to worry about **** like this.
I don't know what the answer is.
Your boy did the right thing in my book. Safe room my ***. Run Forest Run.

He was really afraid I'd be mad he left school. **** that, he did the right thing, and got a bunch of his buds out too.
Good smart boy ya got there Ron Had the same problem here 2 years ago and my boy did the same thing.

If you are really bored and interested in gun control and murder, search ( i dislike using the word google these days) Switzerland. And... full automatic rifles are not illegal in the USA but are heavily regulated. I think this old gear head is done with this gun conversation. We can beat ourselves silly figuring what is enough and what isn't. I have to say weapons are already heavily regulated. On a lighter note, I saw a bald eagle up close today. It was eating on a deer on the side of the road. Didn't want to bother it or waste my time trying to get crappy picture. Wrote a $5000 estimate too. Be nice to land that one.

Hope it's a simple box side replacement or something like that.
Doing a new Ram pick up box side today and took longer undoing the wiring than taking the box side off. lol

At least you undid it LOL. Nothing more embarrassing than getting the crew rounded up and have to disconnect something you missed. Or worse, hearing that POP. lol

This new Ram truck is a piece of **** was backing in the shop and getting close to the wall in the back of the truck and it locked the emergency break and it locked itself in park. Had a hell of a time trying to unlock the damn thing.
I remember the good old days when you just crashed into the wall and the car had no idea. Soon not gonna be able to take a car apart to repair it without asking the cars permission. Damn piece of tin might get scraped before it gets fixed.:)

Crazy. So you are saying that if you put some tape over the sensors you could basically disable the truck?

Not in the camera the box and tail gate was off the truck so was in the bumper sensors.
Another thing I found out if you undo the wiring before you take the tailgate off the the truck, it will not open so you have to plug it back in then you can open the tail gate and take it off.
Removed the strikers so I can put the tail gate back on to adjust the new box side with the tail gate and not have to worry about not being able to open the tail gate without power being plugged in. ??? dose that make scene! Screw the idea of shooting people gonna shoot the new cars first. :D

Good info. Man I'm out of the loop. Kind of miss it.

Ok
Mark you ask for it (get crap for that so fire both barrels.)
So the first Picture is a AR15 uses a .22 cal bullet, and has such a weak charge that many states here in the United States do not allow them for hunting. Because they Do Not Kill Humanely. (and only capable of short distance) The Second Picture is a browning Hunting rifle Chambered in a .300 win mag capable of taking down the biggest of Game, at up to a mile away (if you have a steady hand and no wind) Now both are semi Auto (as full Auto are illegal) so they both fire as fast as you can pull the trigger. (firing rate is the same) Both take a clip and clip can be change out within a second or less ( clips come in multiple size for both ) Now the reason i am explaining this is to educate you from what the media is is telling the uninformed people, and getting them to believe there nonsense. I hope this does not cause hard feelings ( excuse me as BP pointed out I should have said Magazine instead of clip MY BAD)View attachment 1715460244 View attachment 1715460245
Thanks for the schooling Old Fish. My point is that I don't like guns period! My son has a pellet gun that is really powerful and needs a gun license to own it. I might be wrong on this but I think he said it fires 1700 fps or close to that. The only thing I would shoot an animal with is a camera. That's just me.

Turds floating by I would guess. Sounds like a shitty day.
We get the same problem with calcium build up as well sure hard on hot water tanks.
I was at work one day and the one urinal wouldn't flush properly. They brought a plumber in and he had the urinal off the wall and he showed me what the problem was. If you didn't know our urine has calcium in it and that's what plugged the urinal up. Who would would have thought. So now you can say you've learned something new today.

In Canada . My 2 cents .

Seeing we don't have pennies anymore here's my nickles worth. lol My friend is a retired Toronto cop. He said there are over 400 gangs in Toronto alone. There are also handguns hidden in secret places. These a-holes use the gun and then put it back for the next guy. I guess guns are like cars, you're always looking for something bigger and better. My son is a hunter and has many rifles including a black powder gun, his pellet gun and also a compound bow that he just paid 1800 bucks for. It's his thing and that's fine as he isn't into cars.

Clean water luckily.

Here, you’re lucky if a tank last 9 years.
I guess that depends on the hardness of the water. Nothing lasts today not like the old days. They say an appliance is good for 10 yrs. The other problem is that if something goes wrong once it's out of warranty the parts and labour to fix it is almost worth as much to replace it. My daughter's oven had a problem with the digital display. It was 405 bucks for the part plus 150 bucks (including the service call) for labour. It was a no brainer she bought a new oven. The rich get rich and poor get poorer.

Ask the NRA they should know. OOPS stirring it up again LOL

Not me I like living in the dark when everything was mechanical. This new generation crap is not for me after the last 5 new cars I worked on.
It's like our 300. There was a recall and now if the driver's door isn't completely closed the car won't budge an inch. It's a safety thing and I can appreciate that but what if you want to back up or go forward with the door open? New technology is great but can be a pain in the keister as well.
