Agriculture has been a double edged sword from the get go. Afforded people to get away from the chores of feeding themselves but is pretty hard on Mother Nature.

The new combines have a 60 foot header and today saw a grain trailer out in the field getting corn off the combines that was the biggest I've seen and looks big enough to hold a semi load or more.
Can't even imagine working on the new farm equipment. Think your idea of keeping it simple is a better idea by far. You can fix it and the new stuff is you have to call a specialist to come out and figure out what the problem is before a mechanic can repair it. And now diesel fuel is getting harder to get and you know as I know what that is going to cause.
Yes that is why I am staying small so I can fix them myself. I have 3 combines right now 2 are Diesel and 1 gas. They have 13, 15 and 18 foot heads with two 4 row and one 6 row corn heads. I would however like to go bigger with a tractor in the next few years to prep ground faster.

Spread my finished compost and built a new pile today. Sure want a little bucket loader.

Bet it's real hard working everyday and trying to farm at the same time.

What a cold miserable day today. Don't think the sun poked it's head at all today and raining on and off.
Wouldn't that be too bad if no kids showed up tonight lol

Never get any kids here but I am stocked up with candy just encase Mark.
Nothing better than spoiling a bunch of kids with chocolate and knowing they will bounce off the walls when they get home. LOL

Happy Halloween fellas , we get between 160 and 200 depending on weather , but for the last 2 years with Covid we’ve chosen not to open the door ,but the neighbour's are all still participating . Tonight the fire hall gave out candy, had fireworks and we had an epic bonfire ! And yes I lit it with a tiger torch. 3 meters by 3 meters just like the law says.
