Is anyone aware that Canada charges a 270% tariff on milk coming in from the US ?
She has kept very active both physically and mentally, she exercises regularly and has kept her weight well down, she started piano lessons about 10 years ago, and guitar lessons 2 or 3 years ago. She also paints, writes, has taught Sunday school and this year is volunteering a couple days a month at an elementary school.Wow she is doing really well.
It seems not being willing to accept the help is more of a burden than not excepting help. That's how it was for us and my wife's mom.I understand Murray And that's why I don't want to be a burden on my kids...

I don't know Charlie, My kids keep telling me they want to take care of me but I don't want to be a burden on anyone. I think I'll check out before that happens. Hopping anyway.Gotta know when to say uncle. I'm pretty sure I aint saying uncle too.![]()
It was a real pain in the butt feeding mom at her place. I had to unplug all of the cooking utensils. Refrigerator door not closed, things like that.Really?? never thought it would be.
I think you been through more than me dealing with that.It was a real pain in the butt feeding mom at her place. I had to unplug all of the cooking utensils. Refrigerator door not closed, things like that.
Finally convinced her to come live with us when my wife found her cold on the floor. She needed a bath. A lot easier to do from our home. Luckily she had assistance insurance to carry her through. This was all during Covid. But who am I to tell you.
I disagree. Water under the bridge. Where we are heading is letting your kids assisting you to gracefully spend the last days of your life which I am sure they will have it no other way and you should gracefully let them.I think you been through more than me dealing with that.
Celebrated too early. Got called into work this evening.Stayed home from work today, except to check on a client, and get ready for next week. Was going to fix a roof, but it's windy, and cold. Was going to continue a remodeling project, but got late in the afternoon. Figured I've been working too much lately, putting in full days, could use a refresh.
Happy Birthday to mom. Cherish them while you still have them. They are a long time deadWent from 50* on Wednesday to 7* today with a 20 mph north wind, butt numbing cold at the park with my dogs this afternoon. I had to change a flat on my wife's car this afternoon, then did some grocery shopping while my wife was cleaning the house.
Taking mom out for dinner tomorrow for her birthday, she's 92 on Tuesday, still getting along pretty well.
Just make sure it's his decision or it'll be all your faultAgreed with Fred, FIL will be 93 on the first day of spring still living by himself with lots of help from us. Has home care 4 days a week. Don’t know how much longer he can do this. Don’t know how much longer my wife can do this. Hoping the Doctor fast tracks him into the nursing home soon.
Go figure,Celebrated too early. Got called into work this evening.
