Ya it warmed up a bit only -30C here this morning. No wind chill, star’s shining. Just another day in winterpeg manisnowba.

not sure of the quality of the water in your area, but yes, if it is high in iron, calcium, magnesium and PH level, the heat exchangers will fade quite rapidly, IF... you do not use a SUITABLE WHOLE HOUSE water softener. very noticeable in the brown marks left in you sinks, etc and if its really bad...rotten egg smell from time to time. In terms of, removing your anode?... hmmmm...it acts as the fall guy in your tank, and removing that will destroy the internals quite rapidly. Well water is notorious for that. An RO ( reverse osmosis) system fixes that problem. It removes everything. again, the up front costs will save you the hassles later down the road. At least we dont have to deal with salt water. Thats a whole different bucket of water

My (Catholic) parents used to call families that were similarly blessed to be "Good Catholic Families", and I didn't understand that until I was about 12 or 13 years old!
Nope in fact I got rid of the TV around 1981, and 2006 when I got one for just watching DVD's.

my parents had a total of 25 siblings but when they came to canada, they only had me and my older sis. just two of us. We are Catholic but Mum and dad were on a budget!
