That's good to hear. I have an appointment tomorrow at 9:15 to sort these things out with the head audiologist.
I know my hearing has depleted somewhat but that shouldn't matter. These hearing aids are pretty powerful. My daughter is profoundly deaf and she starts to hear around 90 db but she does fine with hers. But she is also lip reading.
We talk on video all the time and she may miss the odd thing but she does remarkably well considering.
Well, it's raining as the weather liar said it would and tomorrow as well
I have some friends whos facial hair makes lip reading impossible. I'm far from "deaf" but it sure does help in some situations.

I'd like to meet your family someday.
Snowing here.

I'm kind of ready for a "bad" winter. It would be nice to get out of this drought situation. The trees are suffering.
Kinda like Fred we’re not in an “official” drought here, but it is dry out there….

We’ve been getting a nice “soaking rain” for most of the day here, and given that it’s supposed to change over to snow any minute now, all of that rain we had today sure is/was appreciated.

Temp is dropping here pretty fast so looks like no more rain till spring.

Believe it or not, everyone lipreads. That's what the audiologist at Toronto Sick Kids told us when we had Jen tested at 2 years old. When they fitted her with hearing aids we took her home and at bedtime she didn't want us to take them out. We did when she got to sleep.
Some kids have flushed them down the toilet or threw them in the garbage and some pets have chewed them. Jen loved them but eventually went to using only one aid in her best ear. She said it caused too much interference. She's now 51 and does so well in either the deaf or hearing world. My wife had quit her job as a RN and worked with her and it's paid off umpteen times over.

Morning guys.
It's mild out but when I looked outside at 5am it was foggy but starting to clear now.
Toronto will be a freak show this morning.
Glad I don't drive that every day.
I used to back in the late 60's and Friday afternoons were just crazy with people trying to get out of town to their cottages etc. I had my 67 Chevelle at that time. It had a 327 4 speed and I was always changing gears up and down and hardly got into 4th till we were out of Toronto.
The good old days haha
Have a good one

I got tired of "rowing my own" when we lived in the 'burbs, mostly due to all of the traffic.

And now that we're "out in the sticks" somewhat, even though the traffic is less and the roads are "open", my knees don't care for it. So much so that I'll be swapping drivetrains in 2 trucks (one stick, one auto) just so that I don't have to hit that heavy Borg & Beck all the time.

Sucks getting old and having your body wear down.

I went to Connect Hearing. Maybe you have that franchise close to you. They are great, never priced Costco. Don’t matter I’ll never go anywhere else. Free maintenance, free consumables, aide adjustments if you need and walk in service. I guess they want my business. My 2 cents.

Maybe some alterations to the bell crank would help. My friend did that on his Scamp. He could push the clutch in but had a hard time holding it at the line

I get a little tired of jamming the gears all day long in my tractor, but I still find it enjoyable when I get in a car.

I'm teaching my son how to drive stick in my jeep. We ride our dirt bickes on weekends so it wasnt a huge shock to his system. And if you notice, you can find standard cars way cheaper than automatics now. I guess they are cheaper cause nobody knows how to drive them any longer.... lol

If I had a light, high HP car I'd probably go with a 5- or 6-speed, just for the fun of it, but in my 3/4 tons? No way.

Heck. Even my old Honda Accord V6 coupe with a close ratio 6-speed got old after a while, and that's one of the reasons I bought the Ridgeline.
