I sure need to build another engine for these heads. The last one we used them on was a 292ci/273.

Air flows:
Lift.........1.94 intake........2.055 intake
.100...........77...................78
.200.........144.................147
.300.........191.................203
.400.........234.................241
.500.........264.................275
.600.........280.................296
.700.........283.................306...........oh yeah, they lift to .700"

I always wondered about the 273. back in the day was it able to handle the 289 fords? was yours kind of an all out deal? and what kind of power did it make?

It was a collaboration with us doing the top end and others doing the short block. Things didn't work out and we only got to do 4 pulls. 468 horsepower on 91 octane.

Do I see a crossover line peeking out from under that rag in the valley?
Why, whatever do you mean?

I'm not knowing the science behind this one as I never asked the builder of the short block.

Another version.........This one has the oil from the cam to the rockers blocked off by rolling the cam bearings. We then tapped into the lifter galley and sent metered oil to the rockers, via an air bleed jet in the brass fitting in the oil passages up to the heads.
