Got some Calvert sliders for my split mono leaf set up. Directions say to put the sliders with the rear spring eye bushing between 60 and 75% towards the rear with the vehicle at rest. Im thinking about making the slider mount a bolt in set up in case I have to move it,pita. Anyway what do people with A body sliders have to say about initial placement and any subsequent slider movement to a different spot? Spring eye closer to 60% or 75% ?

Whether A body or not, you want them set up the way you described. I’d weld them if I was putting them on a car. Two of our cars have caltrac sliders on their B-bodies and are setup exactly how you described. They are I’d say 75% to the rear. They work great. I think you’ll be happy with that setup.

I had a plate on my Dart that had multiple holes to be able to move them. never did had a set of holes every .75-1" if I remember correctly and some very short 3/8" bolts to attach them. did it that way so if I changed springs from my old SS springs and something changed it wasnt a mess to cut and weld them back on. Really liked the sliders, made a huge difference in hooking up. never got to the track to see the actual numbers but could definitely feel it.

I don't think I have any finished pics.

If you plan on changing the car up a bunch during its life make them bolt in and adjustable. If you do not plan to change the car up, set em up about 65-70% of their travel at ride height and weld em in, you just don’t want them to bottom on either side. Adding power or weight changes where they need to be set up at. And how hard the car hits the tire.

Welded in a plate so that the sliders could be repositioned. Ya the bolts weigh. Right shackle was bound up! Surprised as i lubed them. This is strictly a race car. But I removed the spare tire well to free up some weight as well as the 10 pound steel battery tray!
