I have a 84 Slant 6. I have a oil leak at the front passenger side of the engine. I checked the oil pan bolts they are all tight. I suspected the timing chain cover. But after closer inspection it looks like it's leaking higher. But the valve cover doesn't seem to be leaking. I read that the bolts that go into the block for the alternator mounting can leak.Does anybody here know if this is a possibility? The engine is a Jasper reman and doesn't seem to be that old.

Those bolts go through into the crank case. You can just put some sealant on the threads to fix any leaks there.
jus sayin....

Looks like the alternator bracket bolts to the block with two bolts. The front bolt was missing. Maybe this is my oil leak.
