learning fender id codes for 68 dart gts

could anyone tell me the codes on a 68 dart gts fender tag?bottom right reads 088580,would a ps,pb or ac code be on the tag?and did they make 68 dart gts 4speed with factory air?thanks
 
That 6 digit number is the shipping order number. It should be stamped into the core support (and other places also). A "1" under the upper case H indicates power brakes and a "1" under the upper case S means air conditioning. I don't think there was a power steering code on the fender tag. There wasn't a breakdown that included A/C on production figures. If it's a hardtop 340 car, they made almost 1300 4 speed cars. The 383 version was less than 1000 built. If it's a convertible, there were only 44 and 40 produced respectively. How many of each were A/C cars is anybodys guess....10-20% would be mine.

An a6 is a console; b4 is bucket seats; u1 means it's a sold car and was ordered with the options it has; X2 is tinted windshield only; 2/5 is drip trough mouldings; 3/0 is belt mouldings; 7/8 is wheel opening mouldings; AX 4 is a 3.2 ratio rear axle; It's probably S6X...not 56X....black vinyl sport buckets; SS1 is montone cream color paint; UB is black upper door frame paint; S9 is transverse stripe delete; 23 is the 2DR hardtop body style; 52 is the 340 engine; 3 is the 4 speed; 38 is E70-14 red line tires; B10 is Nov. 10th production date; and the last is the shipping order number.

what is the upper black door frame paint?is that a body stripe?thank you for the info,dale
 
Air wasn't available with big block A-Bodies unless it was a special deal like Mr. Norm's, and I'm doubting he did many with air back in the day.

I think that determines the windshield pillar moulding color and the inside upper part of the door color.
 
could that be a stripe that runs front to back?no radio code on plate,radio delete?
